KNU Engineering Students Conduct Environmental Research at Erbil Directorate

Students from the Department of Petroleum Engineering and the Department of Environmental Engineering at Knowledge University conducted an intensive scientific visit to the Erbil Environmental Directorate. This field initiative was designed to bridge the gap between classroom theory and industrial application by immersing students in professional environmental monitoring environments. During the visit, students explored the specialized physical and chemical laboratories of the directorate, gaining firsthand insight into the sophisticated methods used for environmental assessment. Under the guidance of laboratory experts, the students performed several critical practical tests, including Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), and Oil and Grease analyses for water quality inspection. This experience provided the future engineers with essential technical skills required to tackle modern environmental challenges and reinforced the university's commitment to high-level practical education.
